Little Miracles

Some things seem unfathomable when your kids are small. When Jack was a toddler, I just couldn't imagine that he would be able to pick out his own clothes and get himself dressed, but now he does everyday. Now another little miracle has amazed me. Ellie has potty trained! I'm very happy to say goodbye to the stinky diapers, but a little sad to see her take such a big step away from babyhood. Nevertheless, she is incredibly cute in her panties!

The Radish

We planted radishes this spring. I've never liked them, but I heard they are fun for kids because they sprout and grow so fast. Well they did! And today, Jack and Ellie tried their first radish. On a positive note... they ate all their carrots at dinner!

School's Out!

Jack and Ellie had their preschool Spring program last Thursday. The theme was the four seasons. Ellie's class was Summertime and the teachers knew better than to have them perform. They were paraded around in wagons instead. You can't get any cuter than a wagon full of toddlers. Jack's class went all out for Spring. They performed three songs on stage including Kermit's version of "why are there so many songs about rainbows." Jack, true to form, didn't do the moves, but looked adorable in his frog costume anyway. Jack has been with these same kiddos for several years now. They are a great bunch! I'm going to miss having Thursdays to myself, but am looking forward to a fun-filled summer.

Strawberry Harvest

After a record 21 days of rain here, we are so so happy to be outside. Grandpa's strawberries are ripe and yesterday we picked to our heart's content! We are so blessed to have the farm. We also got farm fresh eggs and honey from Grandpa's own hives. The bees collect pollen from the berry farm so it is delicious.

First Swim!

We are so proud of him! After 4 months of lessons, Jack has finally let go of his instructor and swam on his own! Yea!

Jack Quotes

Me: Thank you Sweetheart.
Jack: I'm not Sweetheart, I'm Bill.

When Jack is pretending, he doesn't want to break character.

Another funny one,

Me: Hey Jack.
Jack: Don't call me Jack!
Me: Well then what should I call you?
Jack: Lovey.

And a sweet one,

Jack: Mom do you know why I wipe your kisses off?
Me: No, Why?
Jack: So I can keep them forever.

He's got me wrapped around his little finger.

Parks

Thank God for parks. We've been spending a lot of time at parks this spring. Jack has been known to meet a new friend and pretend to be superheroes. Ellie is taking off with her climbing and sliding skills. They are both adrenaline junkies I'm afraid!
